Meet Dr. Lisa

Hi, I’m Lisa — Physical Therapist, Movement Enthusiast, and Healing Advocate 💛

I’ve been a physical therapist for over 15 years, and every step of the journey has deepened my passion for helping people heal, move freely, and reclaim their confidence. I’m a proud UW–Madison graduate (Go Badgers!) and have worked in a variety of settings including outpatient orthopedics, acute care, and even the emergency department — all of which have shaped the whole-person approach I bring to care today.

Over the years, I’ve helped people navigate everything from chronic pain and injury rehab to performance optimization. Whether you’re recovering from a setback or simply want to feel better in your own skin, I meet you where you are — with compassionate, individualized, and effective care.

💪🏼 I’m also a CrossFitter, so I understand the drive to stay active and the frustration of movement limitations. My goal is never to fully restrict movement. Movement and exercise is extremely important for many reasons. My goal is always to find as many activities as possible that you can do while also creating an environment conducive to healing.

Outside of the clinic, I’m a wife to an incredible husband, mom to two energetic boys, and dog-mom to our furry sidekick — so yes, I fully understand the importance of balance, strength (mental and physical!), and quick recovery.

If you’re ready for a therapy experience that listens, supports, and empowers — I’d love to help you get there.

"One session with Lisa was more valuable that several sessions with traditional therapy. Her knowledge, professionalism and genuine care for the whole person shines through in everything she does. Appreciate how thorough she was from dry needling, cupping and manipulations. She is not only an amazing PT but an even better coach and teacher when it comes to exercises and maintenance."

"Lisa P is like a human MRI machine. I will come up to her complaining about an ache/pain in one area of my body, and she will find the cause of the problem somewhere completely different. Every time I leave after working with her, I feel lighter, more flexible, and ready to resume my sport. Can't thank her enough!"

-Kathleen S.

"Lisa has been integral in helping me rehab from multiple shoulder issues. She is very knowledgeable in the field and holds herself in a professional manner while providing a comfortable atmosphere and personality. Can't imagine going anywhere else, not to mention her flexibility is wonderful for a busy life!!"

-Brandon L.

"Lisa is just the best! I've worked many years with her in an inpatient setting and have seen the care and treatment she's provided to countless patients. I was then able to obtain my own personal treatment with her. She's truly just extraordinary. Toughest hands/fingers in the area and can get to those troubling knots that many others either can't or don't have the endurance or strength to. I'd recommend her to anyone."

-Stephanie K.

"Lisa is a kind, generous person who genuinely wants to see you feel better. She's dry needled me, helped with questions, and worked out painful spots. I know I can trust her to put me back together."

-Jenna C.

"I just started going to Lisa for some major shoulder/neck issues and lower back pain. I felt relief after ONE session, and felt so validated in the way I have been feeling. I think it’s so important to get feedback on what I can be doing outside of our sessions and Lisa made sure to send me detailed exercises, stretches and support. Highly recommend!!"

-Kaitlin K.

"Lisa is fantastic! She takes the time to figure out the root cause of the problem instead of just treating symptoms. I really appreciate that she spends the entire session working with you and developing a plan, rather than handing you a sheet of exercises and sending you on your way. Highly recommend!"

-Jessi K.

"I can’t recommend Lisa enough! She takes the time to truly figure out what’s going on and I never feel rushed during appointments. One thing I especially appreciate is that she sends personalized videos of the exercises so I know exactly what to do at home.

What really sets her apart is how much she cares. When I reached out about my son, she went above and beyond by sending stretches, exercise videos, and suggestions to try with him as well. Her knowledge, responsiveness, and genuine investment in her patients make such a difference. I’m so grateful to have found her!"

-Julie B.

"Lisa has been the best provider and so supportive of me during a stressful time when I was dealing with painful muscles and misalignment. She spends a lot of time asking questions, answering my questions, providing feedback and reassurance post-appointment with thoughtful messages, exercises, and encouragement. Most importantly, she is body intuitive, hands on (and strong!), and makes physical change in one appointment that can be felt immediately and for days to come. She is willing to try a variety of approaches to help provide relief, including physical manipulation, dry needling, cupping, etc. Go see her, she is one of a kind!"

-Jenna K.

"Lisa is an outstanding physical therapist (great personal trainer as well in my opinion too). I’ve been seeing Lisa since March and I plan to continued even without insurance coverage. From the very first session, she took the time to thoroughly assess my condition and explain a clear, personalized treatment plan. Her knowledge and professionalism was immediately evident, but what truly stood out was how genuinely she cared about my progress and comfort. Each session was well-structured, combining hands-on therapy with exercises that were both effective and easy to follow at home. Lisa is always patient, encouraging, and attentive to any concerns I had, adjusting the approach as needed to ensure the best results.

Thanks to Lisa’s expertise and support, I’ve seen significant improvement in my mobility and pain levels much faster than I expected. I feel stronger, more confident, and better equipped to maintain my recovery moving forward doing the same move I love that got me here in the first place, but doing it more properly now. I highly recommend Lisa to anyone in need of physical therapy—you’ll be in excellent hands, I promise!"

-Lynda V.

"I came to Lisa for neck and shoulder soreness that were also causing me headaches. It was refreshing how much she listened to my concerns before starting. When she started working on me, she quickly found the tightest and most sore spots. Dry needling, neck deep tissue massage, back cracking, and exercises for home have all made significant progress. I used to think PT was only for recovering from an injury, but after my first two visits I’m sure I’m going to coming back for maintenance to prevent getting into such a chronic back and neck tightness situation. Lisa is a hidden gem of Cottage Grove."

-Joe B.

"I had a lower back injury and my insurance accepted PT was a 3 week wait to get in. Lisa was able to get me in for the first couple of weeks before I could get in with insurance. She was fantastic. Not only did we have stretches and exercises, she worked on some deep muscle issues stemming from my injury which included needling. I felt like things were happening when I left there. After getting into my insured PT…I felt like it was a complete waste of time! Not the same at all. I was given exercises and more exercises. Handed over my $15 copay and left feeling the same I did when I went in. No muscle release at all. It was very disappointing. Went to my insured PT for 4 weeks and ended up coming back to see Lisa. Not all PT providers are equal. Highly recommended."

-Ryan K.

"Hurt my back in a CrossFit workout a couple weeks ago. It was so bad I could barely get off my couch or turn over in bed. Lisa was able to fit me in the next day. Took me 15 minutes just to get dressed to head over there.

Experience there was great. Lisa has a warm personality and is easy to get along with. After an hour of various techniques including needling, cupping and manipulation. She had me in much better shape. Was still pretty rough but much more functional. She gave me exercise to work on, went back a week later for more treatment and more exercises.

Thanks to her I was able to go on a planned snowboarding trip to Duluth, just 11 days after I could barely move.

Can’t recommend her enough!!"

-Shawn M.

"I can't recommend Lisa enough (in fact, I recommend her all of the time to friends, family and my people at my gym) ! She has helped me tremendously with my upper back and trap pain. Her knowledge, skill, and healing hands have made a huge difference in my recovery. She takes the time to teach proper form for exercises I can do at home and truly cares about my long-term physical goals. Her personalized approach, encouragement, and expertise have helped me feel stronger and move with much less pain. I'm incredibly grateful for her care and highly recommend her!"

-Sara W.

"Lisa is fantastic at what she does! She is truly an expert in her field and was able to individualize my care for what I needed. I've learned a lot from her and appreciate her hands-on work that has helped with my neck and back pain immensely."

-Gretchen M.

"Lisa is a great physical therapist that has helped me tremendously. She is hands on, knowledgeable and genuinely a kind person. This is so much more helpful than typical "health insurance" run physical therapy. Highly recommend."
